Black beans are a high-fiber, low-fat, vitamin-packed source of protein, and now there are even more reasons to fill up on them. They're chock-full of antioxidants. They lower cholesterol. They prevent disease.
Adding cumin gives black beans a Latin kick.
Fiesta Black Beans
1/2 onion, finely chopped or Watkins Liquid Onion
1 Tbs Watkins Soup Broth (Beef, Chicken, Mushroom, or Onion)
3 to 5 garlic cloves or Watkins Liquid Garlic
1/2 Tbs Watkins Cumin
1 tsp Watkins Cayenne Pepper Flakes or Watkins Liquid Jalapeno Sauce
1 can black beans, drained
Watkins Sea Salt
Coat a pan with Watkins Cooking Spray and add onion or liquid onion.
If using real onion, saute a few minutes. Add broth. Cook until onion begins to soften, about 5 minutes.
Add garlic, cumin and cayenne pepper flakes. Saute a few more minutes.
Add beans and cook 5 minutes.
Season with Sea Salt.
Serve in tacos or with grilled chicken.
