Indoors ceiling fans, boxed fans even a small desk or table fan can keep air circulating and make the home temperature a bit cooler. When bathing use a peppermint infused soap which makes the skin feel cool (YL
Peppermint &
Cedarwood bar soap and
Morning Start shower gel). Wearing natural fiber clothing that breathes.
Lakes and rivers (fresh water) - While you may not encounter lots of chlorine, you could certainly encounter many other hazardous chemicals and bacteria found in our many lakes and rivers. Make sure swimmers and water skiers fortify their immune system and use essential oils known to combat bacteria and fungus before and after swimming.
Thieves and
Melrose are great choices - a few drops of each on the bottom of the feet the morning of swimming and that evening. Carry
NingXia Red sample packets with you in an ice cooler for an energy recharge during the day and replace essential nutrients lost thru sweating.
Electrolyte Drink Two ounces
Ningxia Red16 ounces purified water
20 drops
Mineral Essence1 drop
lemon oil1 drop
peppermint oilOne teaspoon
Blue AgaveMix together in bottle to take with you in the cooler. Sip on these rather than dehydrating soft drinks and alcohol.
Oceans (salt water) - Much the same as fresh water as far as not too many chemical contaminants (depends really on where you pick to swim), you may concern yourself more with dry skin, cuts from small shells and critters in the water.
Cuts and Boo-BoosRinse with purified water, apply a few drops of
Melrose(antiseptic),
RC*,
lavender (soothing) and/or
tsuga (helps control bleeding). Bandage if needed and to protect. * While attending a Young Living Grand Convention they showed slides showing the power of RC to eliminate the staph or MRSA which is found in many lakes, rivers and streams. It can enter the boy through a blister or small scrape - any opening of the skin. We apply RC to all skin abrasions.
Bug BitesPurification, basil, peppermint and Idaho Balsam fir are all oils people find helpful for insect bites.
