Was just texted a great question!
Question:
How bad is it to have oils in extreme cold? Had some in mailbox overnight.
Answer:
Heat worse then cold. When it's hot the lighter molecules separate to the top so can escape into air when opened so best to let set at room temp to open if possible. Cold not such an issue. If it has a carrier oil in it it may be thicker till warms up or cloudy. If it has water or liquid other than concentrated essential oil will need to let thaw if frozen. Here the concern would be container breakage due to expansion.
However we have been known to freeze our Ningxia red and nitro to make slushed or Popsicle sticks.
