My granddaughter has a really bad acne problem. She has used the usual products on the market and still had really bad acne that I was afraid was going to leave scarring. She visited me for the weekend of Thanksgiving and we started putting YL Lavender essential oil on her face 2 times a day. Her mother commented that she was going to purchase her kit when she got back to her home because she could see that the Lavender oil was clearing up her daughters face! I have had oily skin my whole life and acne to varying degrees as well. The wash from the ART skincare is the best I have every used- cleans thoroughly but does not dry the skin out. Sometimes I still do have a breakout and mine are usually cystic in nature so very painful. (I think a liver cleanse is in order)When I feel a bump starting up I use lemon oil on it and 99% of the time it STOPS it from forming. This is a near miracle in my experience with this type of acne!

Young Living's lavender essential oil works wonders on acne! I apply it neat with my finger to problem areas. I have tried everything there is out there for acne. Sometimes it works for a period of time and sometimes in makes my face worse. I am 20 years old and I have a lot of stress in my life between full-time college and two part-time jobs. I am 51 years old and I wanted to feel younger. Well, My face broke out with acne. That was not they way I wanted to feel younger! I am sure the break out was hormone related. My forehead had broken out with what I call 'angry acne'. It was red and painful. I put three drops of Myrtle oil in my hand and placed it on my forehead. The next morning the angry soreness was gone! The healing had begun. I continued using the oil for three more days and the acne is gone! I love these oils.

All the above oils can be used to help diminish the appearance and existence of acne.I go through this entire list of oils one by one, using a different one every day.Use 2-3 drops of an oil for less acne prone skin and 3-5 for really oily skin. Put the drops and a small dollop of face lotion in the palm of one hand and mix together. then apply over all blemishes. i usually apply once a day before i go to bed because of the strong scent but you can apply twice a day. Some are more drying than others.But they all work really well:) I've had people tell me that my face looks much better when i use the oils.Be consistent and your patience will pay off!

What I did for acne

My face would occasionally break out with acne no matter what soap, astringent or cleanser I used. Eventually I was at a complete loss and had the revelation that less is more. So I simply used a simple Almond or Peppermint castille soap and followed up by massaging a few drops of cedarwood essential oil all over my face.

I did this once in the morning and once in the evening. I learned that it is good to use other oils so I would also use lavender, patchouli, galbanum and spikenard.

For the past few months my skin has looked incredibly smooth and the few breakouts I've had are very small in size.

Thieves and olive oil for acne

A few weeks ago my daughter was asking if any of the oils help with acne or pimples. And I said, well lets read up on it first...because I wasn't sure, I am new member and I am still learning how to use the oils.

I was reading that you can use Thieves for acne, and my daughter heard me saying that, so she proceeded with the oil, without waiting for me to finish and she placed dabs of oils on the lower part of her face, which at first didn't feel anything at first then all of sudden it started burning and on fire. It really hurt her for awhile, then I got on the phone with our distributor and she said I needed to use 50/50 oil with extra virgin olive oil to help it work. So remember to read up on instructions before you put anything on your face.

Acne flare ups

From time to time I break out on my face with bumps and sometimes it is a cyst/knot. I have found that Lemon, Thieves and Clove work best for me. My favorite is the Clove because it also smells good and does not cause redness on my face. I place a couple of drops on a Qtip and hold it on the bumps. Most of the time the blemishes are gone overnight and at the most, it takes 2 days. It is very frustrating dealing with acne at my age and the oils have taken away that frustration because I know they work ...and fast.
